B: Sleep shall neither night nor day

So yeah, a second blog entry tonight; if not because something interesting happened, then to make up for my not being sufficidently on the computer all weekend.

I just finished my homework. I had to take the interview I did with Ana Yavari and turn it into an article. The inherent difficulty with this is that most articles involve interviews from a variety of sources. I think I actually did a good job, however, taking the story behind Ana's difficulty in applying to Sheridan, and actually making a soft news story out of it. Obviously this isn't hard news, (what Jarrett calls, "the car hitting the truck" or something,) but I think, jut barely, I managed to pull out an article that could, theoretically, be run in the paper (it wouldn't, and shouldn't, and if it were, I'd have actually spoken to somebody at admissions.) I made a joke that it's "just bad enough to actually run in the Sheridan Sun," just a little remark about a perceived lack of quality at the Sun. Not that I seriously think that, I just always think back to this incredibly biased and borderline offensive article they ran at the beginning of the semester about students transitioning to Macs.

To prepare for writing (actually this was an accident, but that's how it happened,) I watched Almost Famous today, and that put me in a good journalistic mood. Imagine if I had picked today to sit down and read the Transmetropolitan comics Kris sent me... the result would not have been happy.

Somehow, after it was done, I got to talking to Ana about it, and then the topic veered this way and that and it became a really weird, fun conversation, just like two old friends having a metaphorical drink and chilling. God, I need more of that in my life. Just, friendly conersation. I don't get that these days.

I'm going to have to do a lot of homework tomorrow. I've got a paper due in History and several exercises in Writing for Newspapers (which may very well be due tomorrow but I think we're a few classes ahead in due dates,) due Wednesday, that I can't do Tuesday night because of work.

Oh work... you bitch. Thanks to the odd scheduling of timecards I only got paid for one shift this week. Hopefully I'll be able to settle into a nice routine as to what shifts I get paid for (as in, more than one per cheque) starting with this one. I'm just not making enough money.

Mind you, I am making more than I was two months ago, but still... man was not meant to live on bread alone. Whatever that means, however it was to apply.

Well, I guess that'll be that for tonight. Two small entries seems appropriate to get back on track in this thing.

Not that blogging is really the most important thing in the world. It's just a great way to say "fuck, man! This is why life sucks."

Keep on rockin'
