pt VI: No earthly way of knowing

Today was, for all intents and purposes, a fairly good day.

I began working on the Sun Summer issue today, and as a consequence of volunteering to do the front page, was razzed for getting out of doing any real work yet again. Well, that's pretty much true. It takes talent, though, to avoid real work as well as I have.

So, I'm getting along. It might take a certain amount of doing to come up with an impressive front page that gets passed out to EVERY SINGLE EFFING NEW STUDENT, but I feel up to it. For now. In addition, I'm working with Melissa Wildman (related to Peter?!?! Must investigate!) on editing images, which I am in no way qualified for, but it's something to do. I'm finding it easier to talk to these people. To get along. To be social. So that has the spirits up.

As does the fact that the movie got M2V'd today. It took over two hours, but it happened. now I've just got to set aside, oh, about three days to let it burn to DVD. Hmp.

So despite the weather, it being February and things generally not being so groovy, I'm in a good mood. Let's not ruin it, hm? I don't have school until 12 monday or tuesdays, which is fine, it's cool.

I was watching MuchMoreMusic early this morning, and I was sucked back into a strange flashback of the Spice Girls - Wannabe. I remember when that song was all the rage back in grade 5, Drew pinned them up in our locker and I thought "Hm, what's that funny feeling I get when looking at them?" Uh, yeah.

The other thing I saw was the latest Pink video, and while I've never been a fan of her music, at least the video draws the distinction between her and the sad little pop culture celebrity would I hate so much. A clever and cutting video, indeed.

I feel like my old self. After a rough post like last night's, it's good to know that I can still be my good ole self.
