T: Tomorrow for inaction
So I'm in a bit of a bind. A predicament, if you will.
As chronicled in this blog, my editor tossed me headlong into the world of internship, assigning me a number of articles due for the 30th (tomorrow.) It's annoying, because when I applied, I mentioned that I wanted to start April 2, and in effect I started several weeks before that. Never mind the fact that I had a tonne of shit to do in order to pass my classes, and keep up the occasional Sheridan Sun article. Now I've got to write articles for a real website, due tomorrow.
Two of them are CD reviews. Not hard, I've listened and now I just need to write up the review (no idea on the wordcount, errg.) The other article involved an interview. The dude was pretty tight-lipped but I'm going to call him tomorrow hopefully. I don't know. My point is that I certainly don't have all this stuff well in hand. I don't think I have 750 words worth, I'm a little annoyed with the way this entire thing has come out, but whatever. Whatever, man! I'll do my best, what I always do, and that's... write. I'm going to make this guy's story interesting, hopefully. I mean, it's not even the length of Douglas' short feature article. It can be done. I'm just worried about the timing. I have very little time left to write this article. I have an exam to write for Sal tomorrow morning, and then the newsroom is closed virtually right afterward.
Right now, though, I'm experiencing the very reason I have been saying for weeks now that I'll be working still from Sheridan's newsroom... Eric just finished a 15 minutes walking-around-singing-pacing-weirdo session. I couldn't handle that all day while trying to get things done. I mean, all I'm doing right now is this blog, and I'm finding it tough.
It was a nice day, too... it was a fairly fun farewell party in the newsarium, where I was constantly defeated at Jenga (I don't exactly have the hands of a surgeon but I did all right.) Relaxing... although if I knew how stressed I'd feel later in the evening, I probbly would have used the time to write. I don't know, I just deal with this crap poorly.
I can't even finish this thought. I've got to go write at least one of these things. It's going to be a long night.......
Ecch. Keep on rockin'
-Scott
