IV: Everlovin' blue eyes

Nothing like a good summer rain.

It's pretty nutty, in that cool way. It felt like the entire month of July was deprived of rain... we were always on the verge of a rainstorm and then it would suddenly blow over. There was one flash storm that affected Toronto, and it spat a little the day we went to Niagara Falls, but it was mostly in a state of drought.

Today, it's rained virtually all day. I went out for coffee and you could feel it in the air... that sort of prickling humidity, that overcast shadow that lets you know. It rained mid-morning, but looked to be clearing up in the early afternoon, so again I set out on my bike in search of recreation (Scott gets physical, who knew?) It was a weirdly good admosphere, with all the pavement damp and the wind a breeze... I dug that, man. I was on the way home when it started to pick up again, but didn't pay it no mind. I mean, I've been caught in worse, vividly recalling the time I was on my way home from an ill-attended housewarming party just in time to get caught in a massive thunderstorm. That was a blast. Anyway, this was just a little light drizzle, barely worth the attention.

I think it's less important to know things about someone than to simply... know them. You don't really get to know someone in any really important way by asking where they go to school and what they like to do. If you converse, find common ground, express opinions and attitudes about certain subjects, it gives you much stronger tools to build any type of relationship, romantic or other. I realized this after reviewing an old friend's profile and realizing that, if pressed, I would have no clue what her favourite movies and TV shows were, but I know her attitudes and habits pretty well, as far as who she is as a person. Food for thought, anyhow.

I have important things to do. Well, important as in they should be priorities over this stuff, but not that they are absolutely particularly pressing. OSAP is straightened out and just needs to be wrapped up nicely. I have a review yet to do. But you know me. 800+ posts says I love this thing, for whatever reason.

I updated Interneta with af ew reviews last night, nothing major. A friend of mine put a Facebook album to good use a while back by listing the top 20 albums he owns. It was a very good list. I don't personally own that many albums, and more than 50% of those I do are Aerosmith. I did a similar article for Interneta and I'm considering revising it, rearranging and dropping a few, and creating a sidebar about great compilations (at least one of which already resides in the outdated list.)
