Chapter Two: Let the shadow win

Given how infrequent posts have become, it's strange that I'm posting twice in a day, but I've had quite a day and I wanted to get it down, rather than coming back in a couple days and going "Yeah, some stuff happened."

So I got to school thinking I had a Poli-Sci test, but that's not until Thursday, which is the same day as my Short Story test, so... cheers for one day to prepare for two tests. The Poli-Sci I can handle, the Short Story I'm a little iffy on because of how nebulous it's going to be. I've got to read some stories tomorrow, is what I'm getting at.

So as I was getting out of Poli-Sci, I got a text from CB asking whether he could convince me to skip class and come to the Jays game. Well I was reluctant, but intrigued, especially when he said it was $5 ticket/$1 hot dog day. My rationale is that although lectures have been useful, for the most part the value of the course is in reading the material. I'm also really lazy and was feeling keen on skipping. Shh.

So I met CB and Chris Ferg down at Union and we walked over to SkyDome (or Rogers Center, although there's still a SkyDome sign in Union someplace.) It was a pretty eventful game, Halladay pitched the full nine and got the win after letting up 4 runs in one inning. when it was over, we rushed to make the 9:43 train, amidst the throng of people. I found an entrance to Platform 5 ahead of the concourse (I've gotten to know the ins and outs of the station pretty well) and pulled CB and Chris Ferg away from the group to just barely make the train, which hundreds surely didn't.

Of course, as consequence of this, neither Chris Ferg nor I managed to punch our tickets, which meant that the entire time we were worrying about getting fined $110, which didn't end up happening, so... awesome!

All in all, pretty wicked night. I must've seemed pretty down in my earlier entry, and yeah, maybe there are some bummers, but the truth is, life is going pretty swell. I just need to enjoy things s they are.

And also tomorrow, I should study.

Keep on rockin'
-Scott
