Ch20: "Barkeep gimme a drink" (That's when she caught my eyes)

Happy birthday to me.

So has it been one? Yes. I call it my "Birthweek," because the festivities (as it were,) began two nights ago at my dad's, and won't be resolved until Sunday night. Essentially, that's 5 days of birthdayness... although Thursday nothing happened, and tomorrow... well, tomorrow's not really about the birthday, per se. No cards or gifts necessary. And thankfully I'll be able to put it all behind me.

Round midnight I started getting the "Happy Birthdays" from keenj friends who remembered. I also got the first of a few bot-sent Birthday Greetings from the various sites I'm signed up for.

Woke up this morning and got a lovely e-mail and have been making the rounds from varoius connections to the online world and generally finding birthday greetings (some I reached out for, some I did not.)

(I'm listening to Aerosmith's Classics Live II... I just realized that on it, they sing Happy Birthday to bassist Tom Hamilton. Must've been some subconscious reason for choosing this particular CD. Other than that it rocks.)

I don't like to make a big deal out of birthdays, but I certainly am the type to bask in the attention. Last's year's balloon adventure was odd... but will probably go untopped in terms of birthday coolness.

As for what I did today, as I said, nothing spectacular. Sure, at this point I could be out at a party in Toronto at the request of Fisty, or I could've gone to see X-Men 3, but I'm conserving my energy. Frankly, I'm exhausted right now from doing nothing.

It was a lovely day. A nice light rain fell in the morning and let rest a crystaline mist in the air. I went for a walk in it, it was delightful. And I got inspired to straighten out some of the less congruent aspects of my short story anthology.

Yep; big writing geek right here.

Annnyway, I'm gonna go rest easy. The fog in my life, for the time being, is lifting. I updated Interneta bigtime, so check that out. In case you haven't clued it, it's linked at the top of most posts, including this one.

Keep on rockin'

Addendum 10:53: I haven't addendumated in a while, but I just read something I felt like remarking on.

As usual, I was reading over LJSecret, and I came across a rather provocative one that read, "I've had at least one sexual thought about every single person I know." It got me thinking... how do other people feel about that? I've never seriously considered the possibility that somewhere, someone is having a mere idle thought like that about me - I'm far too modest for that. but for someone to guarantee that if you know thme, they will definitely have a sexual thought about you - well, that certainly puts pressure on things, don't it? Bottom line: what am I doing inside your heads?! Knock it off you perverts!

Hah, like I'm one to talk. I won't say I've had a sexual thought about "every single person I know," but there are stray images that sometimes float around, even without serious consideration. Rest easy, there's nothing scandalous, I think it's common. But this person seems to be making a big deal out of it, so it just got me to wondering about the fact that inside somebody's mind, we're all likely playing out perverse fantasies we have no control over.

So that's a fun thought for tonight. Sleep well, and Keep on Rockin
